Oscar and Emmy

 Oscar and Emmy enjoy visiting their "grandmother" at Lake Martin.  This painting was a graduation gift for her granddaughter graduating from Auburn University this spring.  Can you tell by their names that their owner likes the movies?

Camp

 Camp is a handsome Brittany Spaniel.  He is the family pet and likes hunting for quail on outings at the   farm.   

Shugar

 

Shug was a beautiful Newfoundland who lived in Florida.  She was a gentle spirit and her family's beloved "baby girl" for eleven and a half years.

 

                                         

 After drawing her on my canvas, I began her painting with a French grisaille method using burnt sienna oil paint.  This helped me establish values and gave her a warm undertone.  

A Day at the Lake

I appreciate being commissioned by grandparents to paint their precious grandchildren These beautiful grands were having fun at the lake.  Perhaps as they continue to grow up, this painting will be a sweet reminder of special times spent together.
