Red Rock Hills

The setting sun created a beautiful red glow on these mountains. Red Rock Hills is available at the Museum Shop at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art.  It is a wonderful place to purchase distinctive gift items created by exciting regional artisans. Their Cafe M offers a menu of fresh lunch options in a quaint cafe setting overlooking the lake and park.

Aspens

Beautiful fall colors surround us this time of the year.  They are just a reminder of  the many blessings of living in our bountiful nation.  I am thankful for so many blessings...my family, my home, safety, and a loving God who provides all things.  I want to especially thank you, my viewers, who support and encourage my art.  Happy Thanksgiving!

This painting will be featured in the Small Works Show opening Thursday night, Dec. 3 at Stonehenge Gallery in Montgomery.  I hope you can stop by before Christmas to see work from a collection of very talented artists.

Jim's Garden

Recently I had the privilege of visiting Jim Scott's garden on the lake near Martin Dam.  We have seen it from the water many times through the years, and observed as he continues to add new intriguing garden spots.  It has been written about in many popular magazines, but I had not had the pleasure of seeing it on land until this spring.  It is indeed a magical place, and he is so gracious to share it as he does.

I loved this scene of a wooden bridge and garden gate with a curving stone path that beckons you on to the next lovely spot.  I will deliver Jim's Garden along with several other pieces and notecards to the Montgomery Museum Shop tomorrow.  It is a great place to shop for unique gifts and accessories.

Big Sur

The craggy coastline of northern California holds many beautiful vistas.  It is one of my favorite vacation destinations.  My brother and I had a great trip together out there last summer.  We had dinner outside one evening on a deck overlooking the Pacific.  Ruby throated bluebirds flew in and out of the trees quite undaunted by the restaurant full of guests.

Big Sur will be available at the Let There Be Art sale and celebration, opening with a gala evening Friday night at the Museum of Fine Art in Columbus, Georgia.  The show will run through April 17.  I hope you can come!

The Real Thing

I spotted this charming building on the way to Callaway Gardens recently.  At first, I thought it was a renovated country store.  Later I found out that it is a residence.  There is a TV satelitte dish in the backyard...a blend of old and new.
