Off Road

When traveling country roads, we often drive by a scene like this one, with an old truck sitting idle.  I like to think about the work life and enjoyment it must have shared with its former owner in past days. There seems to be a special bond between a man and his truck!

This painting will be in the annual Christmas Small Paintings Show at Stonehenge Gallery in Montgomery opening Thursday night, December 1.

Cardinal

Each holiday season I like to paint a Cardinal.  This is the fourth of my series.  They are my favorite winter birds and are often found in Christmas designs.  We love to watch them feed from our feeders near the lake.

This is one of ten paintings I will have in the Small Paintings Show at Stonehenge Gallery in Montgomery.  It opens with a holiday reception at 5:30 on Thursday, December 1.  I will be posting some other pieces. However,  I hope you will come out for a fun evening and to see an eclectic mix of paintings from talented Southern artists.  For more info please contact richard@stonehengeinc.com.

Eloise

I recently finished painting Eloise and will deliver her to the Museum Shop at Montgomery Museum of Fine Art next week.  It gives me peace these days to paint animals in a pastoral scene.  It helps me remember that we are all God's creatures. He has a plan for each of us and for our nation.

Please come out for their Artist Market next Friday, November 18, from 5:30-8 PM and Saturday, November 19, from 10 AM-4 PM.  You will be able to purchase regional art in the Museum Store and unique items from local artists in the Market.
