Invitation

You are invited to a reception sponsored by Mayor Todd Strange and the Montgomery Art Guild next Tuesday night at City Hall.  On display will be a juried collection of paintings by Alabama artists.  My painting, Cahaba Lilies, was selected for this exhibit.  The art will be on display in the gallery by his office until August 28.

Destination

Destination:  the place to which a person travels.  I look forward to spending time on this southern beach with family this summer.  I hope this painting at The Flower Store in Auburn will bring back fond vacation memories for you.

Montgomery Art Guild Museum Exhibition

You are invited to a reception Friday night at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, opening their summer exhibition.  I am honored to have a painting juried into this show which will run until August 9.  I hope you will be able to come to this lovely event.  I look forward to seeing this exciting collection.

Jim's Garden

Recently I had the privilege of visiting Jim Scott's garden on the lake near Martin Dam.  We have seen it from the water many times through the years, and observed as he continues to add new intriguing garden spots.  It has been written about in many popular magazines, but I had not had the pleasure of seeing it on land until this spring.  It is indeed a magical place, and he is so gracious to share it as he does.

I loved this scene of a wooden bridge and garden gate with a curving stone path that beckons you on to the next lovely spot.  I will deliver Jim's Garden along with several other pieces and notecards to the Montgomery Museum Shop tomorrow.  It is a great place to shop for unique gifts and accessories.
