Fishin' Hole

My friend captured this precious scene of her grandchildren on her I phone. They were enjoying the afternoon at a favorite fishing spot on their farm.   She might need to become a children's photographer!  Of course having precious subjects always helps.  She commissioned me to paint this painting for a Christmas gift for her son and his wife.

Dock Party

Every summer we look forward to having our family come to visit on Lake Martin.  With the help of their parents, we took lots of photos for reference of this crew of grandchildren sitting on the dock. They have a great time together!
Of course this painting is not for sale, but I do welcome commissions.  Our grandchildren make beautiful subjects to capture sweet memories.

This cutie pie is soaking up the sunshine on the dock at the lake.  There are alot of textures in this painting:  the water, the dock, and his fur with fun shaggy ears.

Day #6

I utilized a technique called pointillism to achieve the shimmer in the water on this painting.  It is a neo-impressionist principle in which small dots of pure color are juxtaposed side by side to achieve the desired colors.  The viewer's eye then does the blending.

Bo

This is a commissioned painting of a dog named Bo.  He loves the lake and his tennis ball!  

It is a graduation gift for a favorite niece from an aunt who is very proud of her accomplishments.
