Wading in the Chattahoochee
The reference photos for this portrait of Sam were taken by my very talented daughter in law, Lauren Carroll. He was wading in the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta. His favorite part of the painting is the red boat!

Sam
Many thanks to Ron Bayens for our portrait class last week. It is a privilege to learn from a masterful portrait artist! This is my painting underway. I will let it dry and return for several more layers before completion.

Julia
Miss Julia is my sweet granddaughter who lives in Mississippi. She is painted here on the porch of her home in the countryside near Oxford...a southern belle indeed. She and her family are welcoming a new baby girl to their family later this week. Best wishes to all!

Croft
This little fellow is the handsome grandson of a good friend. His dad and my son were high school friends in Auburn and college roommates at Ole Miss. Now they are husbands and fathers, raising sons of their own.
